In both the cases the load is inductive motors.
Yes, as Wingman said here 3 c/o means 3 pole double throw. Is it that the contactors are always Single throw ( N/O) and power relays are Double throw and there lies the difference between them? Pl clarify. And because of this the contactors may be cheaper than power relays if at all they are.

Make sure the springs are not broken. If they are they need to be replaced and that is what is causing your problem. This sounds like the problem because of the amount of effort you needed to use to open the door, and because it would not stay open.

Is my truck already set up with an electonic brake controller since I have the 7 pin connector? How can I tell? Also, if not, what do I have to do to get the brakes to work?

If you don’t have a brake in the cab then you will have to get one. There should be wires to plug the controler into already under the dash (red, blue,& white wires with a plug already on them) this is connected to the 7 pin plug.
